SmartSolarBox component overview - panels, cables, ballast and central foot

Ballast i konstruksjon

From central foot to fully unfolded on the roof

SmartSolarBox follows a fixed installation sequence that reduces risk and increases project pace.

SmartSolarBox central foot weighing 25 kg
01

25 kg central foot

The 25 kg central foot is the foundation of each unit. It provides a stable base and controlled load distribution on the roof.

Structure with optional extra ballast

Up to 8 extra ballast stones can be added under the panels in the rail. This adds flexibility in wind-exposed zones without changing the installation logic.

03

Verified lifting hook on site

On project sites, SmartSolarBox is lifted with a verified lifting hook attached at the top of the structure for safe, repeatable handling.

Plug-and-play

Prefabrikkert kabelnett

Factory-terminated for faster, cleaner and more error-free rooftop installation.

SmartSolarBox is delivered with a prefabricated DC cable network - plug-and-play string cables and harnesses for fast, tidy and repeatable installation.

  • Factory-terminated: MC4-Evo2 from Stäubli, pre-crimped and factory-tested.
  • Cable choice: KBE Berlin cable or equivalent German-made cable for high quality.
  • Clean routing: Clips and routing solutions that protect membrane and cables and provide a service-friendly layout.
  • Documented layout: Harness lengths and strings are planned digitally to reduce cutting, errors and installation time.

Frequently asked questions

FAQ

Does the system damage the roof membrane?

No. SmartSolarBox is installed without roof penetrations. Loads are distributed through the central foot and pads to preserve membrane and drainage.

How are wind and snow loads handled?

Each layout is dimensioned with project-specific data. Extra ballast per unit and interconnection are assessed against relevant loads and standards.

What documentation can be delivered?

We can deliver product data sheets, wiring documentation, installation principles and project-specific documentation when required.

Is SmartSolarBox suitable for large commercial roofs?

Yes. The system is designed for fast, repeatable installation at scale and is used on large commercial and industrial buildings in Norway.
